Android friends get Google Maps, iPhone friends keep Apple Maps. Nobody gets a dead maps.apple.com page.
Why Apple Maps links fail for Waze drivers
An Apple Maps link opens Apple Maps on an iPhone and a bare web page everywhere else. Waze never sees it. Waze drivers, especially on Android, end up with a browser tab showing a pin and no way to navigate, so they copy the address into Waze by hand. On the road, that's the step that gets skipped.
Apple's newer short links (maps.apple/p/…) make it worse: they carry a place ID, not an address, so even copying is hard. JamShare resolves the ID to coordinates and a name first.
Share from Apple Maps like you always do. Just let the link open in the other person's app.
Works both ways
Waze drivers can send places back with the Waze to Apple Maps converter, and the same JamShare link also opens in Google Maps for Android friends. One link covers the whole group chat.
